Refreshing data
Hi guys,
I have a little database that has a form that operates as a main menu. This menu opens a form that allows the user to enter data. It does certain calculations and displays a summary of critical data in a box on the one side. The calculations are done by a procedure in the form's load event. How can I refresh, or update, these calculations after data has been added. I have managed to do it manually by adding a refresh button and running the calculations procedure when this button is pushed, but this seems to be cumbersome and duplicates existing procedures. Ok thanks. Kenny |

Refreshing data
run the calculations from the form's AfterUpdate event, in addition to the
Load event. i'm not sure what you mean by your Refresh button "duplicates existing procedures". did you write the calculations code directly into the Load event? if so, you should be able to move that code into its' own procedure. then you just call the procedure wherever you need it. hth Kenny wrote in message ... You could add a AfterUpdate event for all relevant
fields, calling for the form to requery. HTH Chris -----Original Message----- Hi guys, I have a little database that has a form that operates as a main menu. Refreshing data
Ok thanks. I actually came right with the on activate event.
I was just silly......I had actually duplicated the code under 2 different events rather that in one procedure that could be called. Anyway....thanks.
