Do you also have Microsoft Works Suite 2002 or later installed on the
computer? If so, then the Word 2002 that comes with Works Suite is conflicting with your new installation of Office XP, which comes with another copy of Word 2002, and you need to uninstall one of the copies of Word 2002. wrote: New installation of Office XP Home Edition does not recognize the Product Key that came with the CD.
