Parameter Query not working on Switchboard

Hi!
Newbie here so please be patient with me...........
I have set up a form that is linked to a parameter query that displays
records only with a certain value that you enter into a data box on opening
of that form. This works with no problems on the form itself but I have
created a switchboard and the parameter data box does not open when I open
this form from the switchboard.

Firstly, can a form linked to a parameter query be run from a switchboard?
And secondly, why won't mine work??

You're getting too tricky for yourself with no added value.

It is very unusual to have to answer a parameter query in order to
complete the opening of a form.

You can achieve the same result by placing a combobox in the header of
your form that runs exactly the same query - where the criteria line
now says forms!myform!MyCbo.

That form can be opened from a switchboard.

Some events arent triggered when the operation is via code rather than
keyboard.
