Linking Tables
I am using Access 2000 as the front-end to a back-end Oracle database. I'm generating reports in Access based on the data in my Oracle tables. To do this, I'm creating a link to the Oracle tables in Access. When I create the link to the Oracle tables, I have to supply the Oracle instance name, userid, and password. I have 2 questions:
1) How can I keep the link to the Oracle tables alive after I've closed down Access? Now, if I close Access down, when I open it up again and run the report (which uses the link to the Oracle table that I get my info from, it asks me for the Oracle instance name, userid, and password again. My users don't know, or need to know, this info everytime they want to run the report in Access. How can I keep that info saved for the linked table so that the users can run the report without having to provide the connection info to the linked Oracle table everytime? 2) How can I automatically refresh the linked Oracle table everytime the users run the report (so that they get the most updated info out of my Oracle table? |

we know the security of oracle database, we have to login
to the database before accessing the tables and all other objects. -----Original Message----- I am using Access 2000 as the front-end to a back-end Oracle database.
