You have Word and Access 2003 (or older) installed and it runs five mins
each after you worked last in those 2003 apps? Or in other words, Word &
Access configure itself always after you switch between versions
(applies to 2003 & 2007).

Nope. This affects Access and Word only. Excel & PPT don't have this
rather annoying issue.

Mine does the same thing, and I uninstalled Office 2003 during setup. I have
rebooted 3 times, and this happens in all Office 2007 Pro Plus applications.

Bob I have had the exact same problem. I used the uninstall feature when it
asked, and then had problems getting 2007 to load. I system restored, have
all files on my computer from 2003, again installed only this time I had to
custon install 2007. However, Each day when I first begin Word configures.

Here is what solved this for me:

1. I noticed the following message in the event viewer:

Detection of product '{30120000-0026-0000-0000-0000000FF1CE}', feature
'AlwaysInstalled', component '{90120000-0026-0000-0000-00413F67CB5F}'
failed. The resource 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft Expression
\Office12\ID_00026.DPC' does not exist.

2. I had installed Expression Beta at some point and uninstalled it
before installing Office 2007 RTM
3. I searched the registry for 30120000-0026-0000-0000-0000000FF1CE
(from the error message above) and removed all keys/values with that
string.
4. All Office apps launch perfectly now.

I have the same problem, except that, when I sign on as Administrator, the
OFFICE programs start right up. I normally sign on as a "User" for security
reasons and the programs always go through the lengthy "configuration".

I don't have the "Expression" problem, and my registry does not contain the
long series that solved your problem. Any other ideas, ANYBODY?

Default Office 2007 configuring on each start up (FIXED)

I had the same problem with Word 2007 until I uninstalled Word 2003. Now,
Word 2007 starts normal.
