Default displaying a grand total value in the masterform.

Hi,

I have a MasterFrm with 2 embedded SubFrms; MasteFrmSubFrm1SubFrm2
SubFrm2 contains a value in Table1

When a user selects a category in the MasterFrm, the 2 SubFrms are populated
accordingly.

I would like to sum total only those values where the selected category and
category in Table1 match.

I'd like the sum value to then display in the MasterFrm.

Any ideas appreciated,
Thanks, Paul

Paul,

If the records of interest are in one of the subforms, place a summary field
in the subform footer, with a ControlSource such as:

=Sum([YourField])

You can make it invisible if you wish. To display it on the main form, set
the ControlSource of a textbox to:

= [YourSubform].Form![YourSummaryControl]
