hi all,

how can I import a video file (as an object?) so that I have a show control
while presenting. I know how to insert it so you have a windows media player
view. But I want it just to be a time-scrollbar with pause/play and stop (or
similar).

Who can help me?

Thnx, Peter

You can inset a media player object from the control toolbox. See here - this
is for sounds but the method is the same. In 2007 it's best to enable the
develop tab in PowerPoint Properties from the large office button to get to
the control toolbox.

Set the URL in properties (RIGHT click) to the path to the video
UIMode can be set to full, mini or none

Hey John,

thnx for that, but I knew this already. Let me explain some mo

I just had a ppt presentation (ppt 2007) which showed underneath a video
only a very basic timeline (to scroll) and pause and stop sign like in
windows media player classic.

Problem further on is that the video('s) on my computer do not seem to work
in windows media player (they look all green) but do work in windows media
player classic, so I was trying to find out that I could embed windows media
player classic into a slide instead of the one you show in your example.

Strangly i saw it all work on another laptop without any problems...

Could be that the other laptop was running PPT 2010. It has a video slider
like you describe.

If you set the UIMode to mini it does look a little like you describe but the
slider governs the sound volume.

no flash... I do know that the movies come out of a pharmaceutical program
to make 3d drawings. But these are .avi files. The doctor told me that he
had tested it also on computers out of his environment and that it worked
fine. Shame I don't have a screenshot...

Oh, I've seen a couple of these. I think they're actually EXE files, and the
EXE includes a viewer. You'd use Insert | Object | Create from File to
insert it.
