Hi,

I'm working with Excel 2003.
I have a workbook (created with Excel 97) which contains
hyperlink to external files (Word, and PDF files).

When I click to a hyperlink, nothing happens.
Same thing when trying to modify a hyperlink.

Moreover, when I'm trying to create a new one,
with "Insert/Hyperlink" menu, I'm selecting an external
document but the "ok" button still remains disabled so I
can't create this link.

Any idea ?
Thanks
Chris

Do you have worksheet protection turned on, I expect that
would cause things to be grayed (or greyed) out.

Is the workbook shared, see
look for topic "Limitations of shared workbooks" in Help
I don't know if you would somehow have the workbook shared
in Excel 2003 and not in Excel 2002. From my Excel 2000 help, I see....

In a shared workbook you cannot ...
Insert or change charts, pictures, objects, or hyperlinks.
Use the drawing tools.

my workbook is not shared.

Moreover, if I open the workbook on Excel 2002, I can
modify or create hyperlinks. This is not possible with my
Excel 2003.

That's why I think it's an option somewhere in Excel....

thanks for help

Sorry for the piecemeal things, but from what you had originally stated
this did not seem to be the problem, but you might as well check this also,
though I can't imagine it affecting menus.

For those with Excel XL (Excel 2002) you can suppress hyperlink
generation under the Auto Correct from the Tools menu.
Tools (menu), Autocorrect Options, Autoformat as you type (Tab).
