Default "default mail client" problem

I've set up my email accts in Outlook 2007, and designated one as default.
When I manually hit send/receive, mail flows smoothly. However, the auto that
runs every 10 minutes stops and tells me "either there is no default mail
client of the current cannot fulfill the messaging request." how do I stop
this crazy message and have the auto mail to run on its own???? I have
vista, and haven't been able to find any help on the "tips" site. Outlook is
my default e-mail program.
