you can't go to the specified record
I have a form based on a query which involves three tables. All three tables have primary keys defined and their relationships are set up correctly (I think) in the query. When the form is opened via a macro, the command GoToRecord New prompts the error message: "You can't go to the specified record. You may be at the end of a recordset." The macro fails, and when you click on the "Add a new record" button on the form, the same error appears. The form's properties allow for edits, additions, etc. Any ideas?

Hi Melanie
If you open your query, does it allow you to add a record? If not, you may have a problem with your joins. Best regards Maurice I have a form based on a query which involves three tables. Maurice,
Thanks for the response. No, the query does not allow me to add another record. To test, I deleted the joins, even though I knew I would get a Cartesian product, but I still cannot add a record. How do you troubleshoot this? Thanks, Melanie "StCyrM" wrote: Hi Melanie If you open your query, does it allow you to add a record? If not, you may have a problem with your joins. Hi Melanie
Could you possibly send me the structure of the tables, and explain exactly what you are trying to do? Or even better, send me a copy of the database to the email address. Best regards Maurice |

Maurice,
Sorry, I'm missing something here. Which email address? Thanks, Melanie "StCyrM" wrote: Hi Melanie Could you possibly send me the structure of the tables, and explain exactly what you are trying to do? Or even better, send me a copy of the database to the email address. Best regards Maurice |
