HAHA, I have tried that already. It does not give you the option to install only Basic, it installs pro automatically with it. You can do a custom install but it does not tell you what programs are included with you basic and which ones are only a trial so I have gone through and told it I don't want Access, Powerpoint, and Publisher but it still tells me my picture manager is a trail....I don't have basic only, the disks I have all include the pro trail...I don;t even know if you can get just basic anywhere...its not on the website....only OEM when you get your system. "DL" wrote: Remove all of Office, install Office Basic only "CAFERS" wrote in message ... Yeah, thats part of thje problem too. When I do the custom install there are no idicators as to what ones are 'perpetual license' and which are trail....I do know Basic does not come with Access, Powerpoint, and Publisher so I did not install those, I don't know if there is something else hidden in there somewhere that I need to uninstall as well. My trail period has expired, it would be nice if it asked me if I wanted to remove pro but it doesn't...just keeps popping up the screen to purchase Pro every time I open my picture manager and then locks it up so I can't use it. Anyone know of a link to download basic and basic only? I just want to use my picture manager again, thats all. As you noted it is a single Office product that contains both Office 2007 Basic (OEM) edition (licensed) and Office 2007 Professional Trial edition components. In Add/Remove Programs in the Windows control panel the hybrid products is usually listed as simply Microsoft Office 2007 (i.e. no qualifying edition name suffix is listed) Both parts of the hybrid product, (the trial and the perpetual[licensed] features) may have come preinstalled on a PC, and that is also the default installation. If you choose custom installation when first installing, or go to the custom installation screen after installation there should be indicators of which items are 'perpetual license' and which are trial and you should be able to set the trial features to 'Not available' state or simply let them expire at the end of the ~60 day trial period. The Office Picture Manager should be part of all of the Office editions, including the hybrid, the Professional Edition and the Basic-OEM edition. ============= "CAFERS" wrote in message ... OK, I tried to uninstall everything again and reinstall to see if I missed something....same poroblem. The CD is called Microsoft Office Basic 2007 with Office Professional 2007 Trail. It says this suite contains Word 2007, Excel 2007, and Outlook 2007......these all work fine. The problem is with MS picture manager, I was told it is included in all Office 2007 suites but it acts as if it is part of the pro suite only. Thanx for your help by the way, it is greatly appreciated....same with you JoAnn!! -- Bob Buckland ?:-) MS Office System Products MVP *Courtesy is not expensive and can pay big dividends* |

REMOVE OFFICE PRO 2007 FROM BASIC INSTALL
Hi Mary,
When using the Office 'backup CD' download site the product you'll get is a 'hybrid'. It contains a combination of the purchased(?) product and a trial copy of a 'next level' Office 2007 product, using a single Setup routine. When you run setup ('custom' setup preferred) you get a screen that lists which app is 'perpetual' (licensed) and which is 'trial'). Once the hybrid is installed you can then go back to Add/Remove Programs and select from the Microsoft Office 2007 choice (no edition name is listed) and set the trial items to 'Not Available'. ================= "Mary Sauer" wrote in message ... REMOVE OFFICE PRO 2007 FROM BASIC INSTALL
Anybody ever come up with a solution for this? It appears that Office Small
Business 2007 OEM also is bundled with Office Professional 2007 Trial. Office Professional 2007 Trial is not listed seperately in "Add And Remove Programs", so there is no way to remove. If you uninstall and reinstall Office 2007 there is no option not to install the Trial Version. Access is the only difference between Small Business and Professional 2007. Even if you select "Unavailable" for Access during install, the Trial files seem to be installed anyway. No matter what you try you will continue to get the "Your Trial Period Of Office Pro Has Expired" popup. Pretty annoying. MS Office Online Support was not able to resolve this. After many attempts of uninstall/reinstall, registery cleaning or using the MS Software Removal Tool, the Expired popup continues. The only option on the popup is to purchase, ther is no option for cancel or remove. I don't believe Microsoft really intended for this to happen. What is needed is a utility to remove the "Trial" version. "CAFERS" wrote: I purchased office 2007 OEM with my new system. It came with a trial version of Office Pro and that has now expired. For some reason this has locked up my picture manager and I can't use it anymore, it just comes up with the activation wizard and wants me to buy the professional version. Now from what I have heard, picture manager should come with all office suits including basic. How on earth can I fix this so that picture manager works once again? I can’t find away to uninstall the trail version of professional from my basic install and I have no idea how else to stop the activation wizard from popping up all the time except to buy it. Any help would be awesome! |

REMOVE OFFICE PRO 2007 FROM BASIC INSTALL
I am still looking for the fix for this. I even upgraded from basic and
still have the same problem....well as far as I can tell. It is giving me a 30 day trial of Access now, when that is finished we will see what happens.
