Default back up PST incomplete ?

Hi there I am hoping that soemone here can help ?

First off system had a new harddrive fitted with new copy of windows XP
on it. Before doing this i backuped my emails and my contacts etc in
PST files that I saved seperatly on memory stick.

New drive has fresh copies of everything on it but when I went to load
all my contacts etc they are not all there !! all my emails seem to be
there and some of my contacts but not them all.

Now when I went to set up my mail accounts one set for one of my web
sites will not load.

Is there anyway to go into my old drive as windows and my old programs
are on the old drive and get the info that I require for setting up my
accounts and to copy all my contacts etc from it so that I can load
them all up on my new fresh copy of outlook?

Default back up PST incomplete ?

The outlook data (msgs/contacts etc) are contained within *pst file(s) by
default the first data file created is named outlook.pst
If you backed up, depending how, and when you reconnect the data file, if
data is missing you either backed up the wrong file or your method of
backing up was wrong

It is only neccessarry to copy the *.pst files, with outlook closed. Then
you open these data files within Outlook

However account settings are stored in the registry, therefore its best to
recreate these manually
