Default Link - deactivate being sent to source when click on linked cell?

It sounds like your hyperlink is still there, but the cell isn't formatted in a
hyperlink style.

Select the cell and hit Insert|Hyperlink (or ctrl-k)

See if your link is still there.

====

If you have a link that appears normal, but you want it to look like a link
(blue, underlined), then select the cell
format|style|and choose hyperlink from the dropdown menu

(You may have to add a hyperlink to a helper cell for Hyperlink to show up in
that dropdown. After you have one, you can clean up that helper cell
(Edit|clear).)

I have figured out how to set up a link from a cell in one book to a cell
in another book. At first all i could do was the"hyperlink" thing with
underlines etc. Now i link and the display is in plain text format.
Problem is, tho, if i click on a cell that is linked to another book, it
takes me to that other book. (There are times i click on a linked cell to
change formatting etc.) Is there anyway to deativate the "feature" of
automatically being taken to the "source" workbook?

Thanks.

...mike
