outlook express - problem
Hi Tom,
Sounds like there may be two problems involved. Some people have had a problem with some messages that cannot be downloaded by Outlook Express. Downloaded stops for all messages when the problem message is in the queue. The message can be removed from Web access to the account (if available). Another option is telnet. What type of account is giving duplicate downloads (POP3 or HTTP Hotmail)? ***** Try using Telnet to remotely empty your mailbox. Go to start/run and type the following: telnet {pop3 server name} 110 - hit enter, don't type the brackets. user {your username} - hit enter pass {your password} - hit enter There are various commands available: list (will return all messages) retr (whatever number will retrieve that message) dele (+ number will delete that number message) -- Jim Pickering, MVP-Outlook Express Please reply only to the newsgroup. ***** -- Tim K. aka Kuay Tim MVP - (IE/OE) Lynnwood, WA * "tom paterson" wrote in message ...
