Default Notes Unavailable in Presenter View

I have compatible hardware, the show presenters view option activated and
notes. Still I can not see the notes in the presenters view.

What workarround other than hardware compatibility and presenters view
check-box activated can I try?

Regards,

Román Valoria.

Hi Román

What version are you using? What *do* you see on the two 'screens'?

I have MS 2003.

I see everythig as it should, but a blank frame where the notes should be.

All the other buttons and options in the presenter´s view work as advertised.

Thanks,

Hmmm. Are the notes just plain text (i.e. not diagrams, pictures etc) as
presenter view will only display text. Other than that the only thing I can
think of is to have a play with graphics hardware acceleration:
How to set graphics hardware acceleration back
http://www.pptfaq.com/FAQ00129.htm

Is it only affecting one presentation or all? If one try this:
HTML "Round-tripping" to repair corruption
http://www.pptfaq.com/FAQ00526.htm

Let us know how you get on.

As soon as I am back at the office I will try that.

Anyway bear in mind my laptop is a corporate image, and I have downloaded
the latest driver from our corporate software manager application. If there
were error with that new driver, the IT guys should have let us know.

Anyway I do have graphics acceleration turned on, so I will test both
disabling it and the testing the slider.

Also I will see if in other presentations occurs the same. First time I ever
try this feature.

I´ll keep you posted.

Thanks,

And yes, they are plain text. A bold and italic at most in some cases.

Thanks again,

Start a new presentation, add some notes text and slides, then try that in
Presenter view. See if the notes text appears there.

I have of this happening in PPT 2003 if the presentation was opened and
saved by a PPT 2007 user, even if the back-saved it to 2003 format. I have
not been able to reproduce the exact circumstances that generate it, but
have seen the end-result a couple of times.

It seems to have something to do with the way that 2007 deals with
placeholders, but that is not for sure.

Default Notes Unavailable in Presenter View - RESOLVED

Folks:

I have found the problem. I do not know if it is because the save as 2003
compatible from 2007 (which I did) or not.

The workarround was to go to Notes View and remove all the dates (by
removing the frame from the top right corner) and the page number (by
removing the frame from the bottom right corner). I actually had 2 frames at
the bottom right one over the other, go figure...

Do not know if this is related to the save-as-2003 or because of the
corporate mater template I am using.

I realized about that because I happen to see the date and the page numbers
in the presenters view.

For some reason those frames take precedence over the notes, so if they are
present in your presentation, they will show first and will not let you see
the notes.

Very, very strange...

Thanks for the help anyway.
