Default The cursor affects all cells it touches-how to correct?

when cursor is placed in a cell and moved, it turns other cells blue and
keeps moving up, down, left and right. How can I fix the problem?

I expect if you look in the Status Bar you will see EXT
Just press F8 to turn it off
Now have a nice cuppa tea
