Export filename being trancated to 8 letter

When exporting queries to DBF (Dbase IV) format, the filename is suddenly
being truncated to 8 letters. I am using Access 9.0.7616 Sp-3.

Is this the result of some recent update from Micrsoft, or is there some
setting that has changed without me being aware of it? How can i fix it?
