Default msg - cannot open file, virus scanner detected pblm

PC was infected; cleaned, MS office has been reinstalled.
Old existing files & newly created files still get
message when trying to open them. Excel message ---
'The file cannot be openned because your virus scanner
has detected a problem with the file'. If I then scan
the file, it completes w/ no virus detected. Help. any
ideas.
(Word is also having similar problem.)
thanks

Removing viruses is sometimes a very detailed process. You may have run a
scanner over it, but have you checked for all steps on the vendors website.
I contracted a variant of Swen some time ago and removal was registry edits,
turning off system restore, etc. It certainly doesn't seem like you've got
it all. (Also your virus scanner may have a fix for variant *.a but the
virus is now at a different variant stage)

Just a heads up
