Default Can VISIO 2003 open AutoCad 2005 .dwg files?

When I attempt to open .dwg files created by AutoCad 2005, I get an error
stating the file is not in .dwg format. The version of Visio I have is:
2003 Professional 11.4301.6408

Visio cannot read this format. Try saving your drawing to an earlier DWG
file format.

Thank you for your response. The drawings are coming from a vendor and I do
not have Autocad. We have asked the vendor to save the drawings in AutoCad
2000, a format we are able to view.

AutoDesk has a new utility, called TrueView. It's free. It can save DWG's to
several versions.
