Default Selected Text changes Change whole doc

this is wierd.
If I select a complete word and apply any change (bold,
underline, font size), it will change the entire document
to those settings.
If I select the letters inside the word, (such as
selecting "etter" in 'letters'), then this does not
happen.
I'm a pretty good user of msoffice, so don't think its
something stupid like I'm actually selecting the whole
document and only thinking I'm selecting a word...

Any help will be GREAT!

Tony,

Caused by the Automaticly Update option set in your
style. Your complete word must be on line by itself and
you are including the paragraph mark. Notice if do a
single Undo (CTRL+z) the automatic update is removed.

To prevent, FormatStyleModify and uncheck automatically
update.
