Default Excel and Powerpoint think I am French

My new Dell Studio (Vista) came with Office 2007. Spell Check on both
Powerpoint and Word identify common English words (like idea) as misspelled
and only offer Fench Spelling suggestions. I have already set the Dictionary
to be English and I still have this problem. Any suggestions?

That is somewhat odd, Vista was replaced by Windows 7 over half a year
ago! Perhaps it isn't really a new Dell, but a refurb where someone has
switched the language and region in the Operating sytem?
