Default excel form lines /and print command

I used excel workbook to make a calendar -all I added was
the month names in the cells on top. I hit file -print-
etc. when the copy came out of my Epson 100ics printer,
all that showed on the page was the month names . no
lines -no numbers (already on the form.) nothing. I went
to help ,followed to gridlines. Got a tiny 1" long three
cell something on the top left. I want to print the
complete form lines and everthing.....

ALSO I had ASSUMED that print meant PRINT THE SCREEN!!
why doesn't it? xp office pro installed as well as xp home
