Default Internet Explorer 8 Update problem

Hi,

I have recently updated my Windows XP Pro system to service pack 3 and
Internet Explorer 8. Previously I had service pack 2 and Internet Explorer
7. Although IE 8 has some neat stuff, I have noticed when I click on a link
(i.e. a story in MSN) a new window pops up, which is fine, but the minimize,
maximize and close button don't appear unless I resize the window. Any
suggestions? Has anyone ran into this issue? FYI, I did not uninstall IE 7
before updating to IE 8.

Thanks for any help in advance?
