Default how can i use my product key on trial version

I have Office Ultimate 2007 on my computer -- retail version with product
kery. My computer crashed. While it is being repaired, I purchased a
netbook (with NO CD drive) to use until repaired computer is returned.

Netbook has trial version of Office. How can I convert the trial version
into a regular version of Office using the same product key. When I enter
that 25-digit number, it is returned as "invalid".

Again, I do not have a CD drive in the netbook -- so I can't do a fresh
installation.

Anyone?

You cannot use a Office Retail versions key to activate the Trial.

Load the Install CD onto your HDD (home PC) into a Shared Folder. Use the
Netbook to access the shared folder, and load the program. Input the key
when asked.

The upside is, when you are working with the Netbook, you can print to your
printer at home over the network.

You'll be copying the Installation CD to the shared folder, not "loading"
it. Sorry.

You can access the shared folder either wirelessly or by CAT5 cable,
depending on your router.

You have no other machines, laptops or desktops?

I have 3 desktops, two laptops, and a Netbook. You need to get your CD onto
a network resource, then log on with the Netbook OR buy a USB drive that you
can copy the CD onto, then connect to your Netbook.

I was thrown by you telling me that the desktop machine is in for repairs. I
knew that, and assumed other resources because I have other resources. I
don't always read the author, I just open the bold (new) posts and blindly
Reply.

Had the OP told me what yo told me, my Reply would have been correct ;-)

Generally you can't use your the serial number you have to activate the
trial version unless the trial version is also ULTIMATE 2007. If this
is not the case, then you can download the trial version of ULTIMATE
2007 from MS website. HOWEVER, please make sure you have
cleared/removed all remnants of the old installation from the system as
mixing the two versions is a recipe for disaster and none of the PIG
society members will be able to help you here.

You should be able to convert from the trial version using your Retail Key.
See here for directions:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/927756

All versions of Office 2007 have the same code base, it's the key that turns
features on or off so your Ultimate Key should work. If it doesn't, you
can install it from scratch. To use a CD with a netbook:

Set up home networking between a working computer and your netbook
Set the CD drive on the networked computer to Shared
Access the CD drive from the Netbook and let it run
