Default need a custom action to MOVE sent items

Hello,

I'm using Outlook 2003 in Exchange Server mode (not cached). I would like to
set up a custom action that alows sent messages to be moved from the Sent
Items folder on the Exchange server to a personal folder.

Can someone please help me with this? I don't know C++, and the other sites
I've looked at don't seem to have any custom action scripts set for this. The
folder I want to move all sent items to is in my personal folder named
"WFI_Archive", and the actual folder I want to move them to is named "SENT
ITEMS", which is directly under the WFI_Archive folder.

Please let me know if there is a custom action I can use for MOVING sent
items. We have very limited space for our Exchange accounts and I go over my
quota very frequently due to sent items filling up. It is really bothersome
and time consuming to keep moving them manually, and there currently doesn't
seem to be a way to do it automatically.

Thank you,
Mike

Hello,

you could switch off saving of sent items in options and then create a rule
"Check messages after sending" - (no further conditions) - "move a copy to
the specified folder".

You can use rules for that instead. See;

Ok. This works to move a copy of messages I send to the SENT ITEMS folder.
But when it does, the message shows up in the folder as an unopened message.
Is there any way to mark the copied/moved messages as read?

Thanks,
Mike

Hello,

are you sure?

Why not extending the rule to:
"Check messages after sending" - (no further conditions) -
actions: "move a copy to the specified folder" & "mark it as read"

Because "mark it as read" isn't an option. If I've got some time left I hope
to update the article with a solution for that by the end of the month. PM
me if I haven't ;-)

In Outlook 2007 the action "mark it as read" exists. Is this new with
Outlook 2007?

No, that action doesn't exist for Outlook 2007 either. Note that the rule is
for messages being send and not being received.
