Default Word stops responding when using mail merge

Hi,

When i use Mail merge i Word 97 with an Excel document,
Word stops responding.
I've tried the same Excel document on another pc. It works
fine here.

Does anyone have a solution for me?

Default Word stops responding when using mail merge

Hi Jeffrey,

Is it just with this one Excel document, or any Excel
document? Can you merge to other types of data sources (such
as a Word table)? Watch the status bar (bottom left corner of
the Word window) when you try this merge:
- you should see messages about what Word is doing
- what message do you see when things grind to a halt?

How long do you wait before you decide it's "stuck"?

Is Excel on the Task bar at this point? If it is, and you
click on the Excel button to bring Excel to the front, is
there a dialog box displayed that's waiting for a response
from you? If yes, and you answer it, does Word then continue?

When i use Mail merge i Word 97 with an Excel document,
Word stops responding.
I've tried the same Excel document on another pc. It works
fine here.
