Default 'unavailable' installation CD for Office XP

Good evening!

We have recently taken on a new client. Their previous consultant - we
believe - has all some of the software install CDs. I am specifically
referring to the Office XP CD-Media in this post.

If they (the previous consultant) do not do the honorable thing and turn
over the software that they have (and this is pure speculation right now so
I am not accusing anyone of anything at the moment) is there any recourse?
I have seen this:
http://www.microsoft.com/office/edit...o/faq.mspx#ELF. Just
hoping....

It is only three copies....but still! We need to update Office XP to the
latest Service Pack level and this does not work so well without the install
CD. Or, am I missing something here? And, the company would like to have
the Office XP CD-Media......

Right now I do not know if it is a retail version of Office XP or an OEM
version of Office XP. I guess if I look at Help | About Microsoft Word (for
example) the version number listed should tell me which version it is
(according to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/291331), correct? But that
does not seem to list the version if it is OEM. Is there something similar
for OEM Versions?

Thank you all!

Whop is the legal owner of the Off CD'S.

If it came with the computer who is the owner of said computer

In any case this is an issue between your client and the former consultant to work out. Could be tit for tat that includes an invoice that seems to be in the middle of it all.
