Default Font and Size

When I hit enter at the end of a sentence, the next sentence is in a
different size and font. I changed the default font and size, but this did
not help. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Some styles (notably heading styles) have a different style defined as the
"Style for following paragraph." When you press Enter at the end of a
Heading 1, paragraph, you get a new paragraph in Normal style.
