Import .ics or .vcf
In Outlook 2003 does the import/export feature have to be enabled in order to
process .ics or .vcf files? I work for a law firm and via group policy, the import/export feature has been disabled. Does this effect saving a .vcf or ..ics attachment? |

Those file types should be associated with Outlook and double-clicking either should open an appropriate Outlook form, which should obey Save And Close. I haven't tried it, but I don't think exporters and importers need to be installed. -- Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook] |

Import .ics or .vcf
I don't think that import/export has anything to do with opening a .vcf file
or an .ics file that contains only a single appointment. An .ics file containing multiple appointments, however, can be processed only with the import function. And Outlook cannot handle a multiple-contact .vcf file at all. But all this begs the question: What are you trying to do? And what symptoms seem to be preventing your accomplishing that? -- Sue Mosher, Outlook MVP Author of Microsoft Outlook 2007 Programming: Jumpstart for Power Users and Administrators http://www.outlookcode.com/article.aspx?id=54 "Mark Louis" wrote: In Outlook 2003 does the import/export feature have to be enabled in order to process .ics or .vcf files?
