Changing Default Font

I've seen this before with a special font and it has definitely been due to
font license permissions. If it definitely worked correctly before, it may
be because the font license has expired. Are you able to change to other
(Windows) fonts as the default (say Arial)? I am certain this is a problem
with the font.

Question: How do I reinstate Architect? I've had it for so long I don't
remember where I got it from, so why would it suddenly become expired?

The font file is ARCHITIC.TTF; Size:31,160 bytes; Date/Time: 06 Feb 1992
01:38:34.

Ah! Google has found an example of Architect at:-

- so I'm going to try installing that.

I'll let you know if it is acceptable to Word.

The tool does the following...

Microsoft Typography is a free tool from Microsoft that lets you access
new advanced options in fonts (the type of letter you use when writing).
Microsoft Typography adds new properties to the TrueType and OpenType fonts
to get more out of them.

The font properties that show extra information like the name of the
programmer, the version of the font, licence, description, etc. What use is
this information? Well, it helps programmers create their own fonts from the
already known ones.

After installing Microsoft Typography you just have to open the Control
Panel and click on Fonts, and once there click in the right button in
Properties.

I searched for other fonts that resembled my original Architect and the
closest I could find was TEKTONPRO-OBL.OTF. But when I installed this,
although it shows up in the Control Panel - Fonts list, MS Word doesn't seem
to acknowledge its existence.

Is there some reason why Word cannot use a .otf font?

My guess is that the printer doesn't support OpenType fonts. It is the
printer driver that determines which fonts are seen in the font list in
Office. If the printer doesn't support a font, you won't see it listed. But
try the following to see if it helps
