Signature curiosity
I have always used a mail text signature.
Recently I replaced it with an HTM file of my signature. So far so good! But now when I reply to a mail written solely in text (no HTML), My original text signature appears twice! Replying to HTML mail does not do this. I have: 1) made the HTM sig default 2) deleted the original text sig 3) looked in the registry for the text sig. (not there) 4) checked the "do not add sig to replies/forwards (that works, but I don't want that option) What gives? Thanks! -- Regards, Richard Harison |

OE fickle?
Imagine that! I opened my HTM sig file with FrontPage and deleted all the stuff I considered extraneous. I then rechecked the reply in format sent box. The duplication went away, and the HTML sig reverted to text. The only difference is that it misses the line break. So it now says: Regards, Richard Harison HTML sig works fine OE a curious animal indeed. You need a SPACE and cr/lf following the two dashes. Dash, dash, space
is the sig tag. It must be on a line by itself. Everything after it will be ignored by most readers. Which means, of course, do NOT use it if you stop in the middle of a mail or post because everything after it will be removed. Unless you want it removed, that is. It works best with bottom-posting, obviously. Regards, Twayne Note that, because I top posted, AND used a sig, ALL of the text below it is gone in a Reply, including all the info the post is about. -- This is a sig preceded by dash, dash space on a line by itself.
