Default Publisher 2003 files can't be opened by Publisher 2000 users

Even though I save files created in Publisher 2003 as Publisher 2000 files
they can't be opened by associates who are using Publisher 2000. What might
be the problem?

Does it happen every time? I've had it happen to me occasionally but I've
found a little perseverance seems to do the trick.

On one occasion it the file did open. That was a calendar. The ones I am
having the trouble with are newsletters.

Like I said, sometimes I'd have to do it a couple of times before it worked.
No clue why.

Do the recipients need to be able to edit the files?

Do you know what error messages they are getting? If not, ask and then post
them here. Don't accept - "They won't open". Get specifics.

Hi Hobnail
Perform the following steps after you have created the publication:
Click FILE SAVE AS SAVE AS TYPE - Select Publisher 2000 and then click on
SAVE
Your collegues will be able to open the files.
P.S. : The file size will increase., hence it is advisable to upgrade your
collegues computer with Publisher 2003

The file size will get humongous! Someone saved a 793K Publisher 2003
for me as a Publisher 2000 file and it came back at over 9MB!

Chas.
