Default "Go to" and then select and open

When I open Excel or Word and want to open a file, is it possible to type in
a letter and have it go directly to those files starting with that letter,
rather than scrolling from the beginning?

Default "Go to" and then select and open

Click in the window containing the file names, then press the letter
