Converter failed to save file
I've recently installed Office 2007 Enterprise package and can no longer read
pdf files either directly from a web site or in an email from another PC. There seem to be several references to this issue on Google but no-one seems to have a definitive answer. Can anyone help please? -- A. T. Hen |

Do you get an error message? If so, what does it say *exactly*?

Hi JoAnne,
yes when I try and open the pdf I get the dialogue box: File download and the prompt: "Do you want to open or save the file". If I open the file I get a new dialogue box saying : "The converter failed to save the file" If I save the file and try and open it from My Documents the same thing happens. Thanks -- A. T. I don't understand what converter it's trying to use. Dumb question: When
you try to open the file, what program starts to open? -- JoAnn Paules MVP Microsoft [Publisher] Tech Editor for "Microsoft Publisher 2007 For Dummies" "Attila the Hen" wrote in message ... Don't waste any more time. The definitive answer is to re-install Adobe Reader (available free of charge) and this will solve all your problems. the download link is he http://get.adobe.com/uk/reader/ hth Attila the Hen wrote: I've recently installed Office 2007 Enterprise package and can no longer read pdf files either directly from a web site or in an email from another PC. Or in the US if you want to download and install that bloated product - http://get.adobe.com/reader/?promoid=BUIGO I prefer Foxit reader which is a lot smaller, faster and seems to work just as well as adobe reader http://download.cnet.com/Foxit-Reade...dl&tag=button/ |

I have said in the past that you do sometimes give good advice, as you originally did in this case, but your adolescent and libelous attitude to someone who says anything you disagree with or who supports properly licensed software, not pirated, doesn't help anyone, just hurts usenet in general. I know that I probably will never see you in person, which does not hurt my feelings, but if I ever find out who you are and can prove it, I will be seeing you in a court of law. I have the evidence right on the internet that can't be deleted. Straighten up your act. |

He's left enough info about if someone was to look around a bit. |
