Office 07 Installation problems
First off I bought a new computer with Windows 7. I uninstalled a store
bought copy of Office from my old one so that I could put it on my new one. While trying to install, the product key works but once it starts installing, the progress bar freezes. It will go a little and then won't move for hours. Can someone help me please? |

I'm not sure what that means. Did you Uninstall the pre-loaded Free Version of Office, and the Activation Assistant, before you attempted to install the stuff you have? |

Office 07 Installation problems
I thought I was as clear as possible, Office will start installing but won't
finish because it completely freezes. I already uninstall the pre-loaded version, but not the Activation Assistant. Is that necessary? "Jeff Strickland" wrote: "Nic-nic" wrote in message ... Yes, it is required to Uninstall the Activation Assistant. Don't forget to
reboot after the uninstall is finished. I have held for a very long time that MSoft stuff should uninstall other MSoft stuff all by itself, but the MVPs don't seem to agree with me, and MSoft continues its agenda of frustrating its customer base every chance it gets. Bottom line, if you have a retail copy of Office '07. There's no reason you can't load it onto your new Win7 machine. "Nic-nic" wrote in message ... Office 07 Installation problems
So I downloaded CCleaner to completely uninstall the pre-loaded Office off my
computer, and restarted my computer several times, yet it will not load on this computer at all and I do not understand. The progress bar will get at least halfway now but will not finish. This is getting very frustrated and I don't know what else to do. "Jeff Strickland" wrote: Yes, it is required to Uninstall the Activation Assistant. Start the Install and go to bed. Seriously. I think (by what you just said) that you're not giving it enough time. I know I thought it wasn't going to load (I remember it was an Office install, but I can't be 100% sure on that point.) The Install went pretty quick, then stopped at what looked to be about 60-ish percent and just sat there. I ran an assortment of cleaners and looked for crap in the Reghistry -- I wish I knew more about the Registry and the magic that it holds. I knew the stuff should install, so I finally walked away, and the next morning it was done. |
