full screen problem
I am using MS Word 2002 with Windows XP.
In the last few days, the settings have changed so that when I attempt to INSERT a file into a document or OPEN a file from within a document or SAVE AS and get the list of documents from which to select, the selection window covers my full screen and hides everything else on my desktop. These windows do not have a minimize option (only a question mark and X for close in the right hand corner.) I can minimize the documents themselves. Also, my screen resolution is 1024 by 768. I want to return to the smaller selection window that used to appear when I tried to INSERT or OPEN or SAVE AS. Any ideas? Rachel |

Double-click the title bar of the dialog window.

Just double-click again any of those dialog boxes. title bar (The blue bar at the top). You can resize those dialog boxes by dragging the bottom right corner (unless you are in full screen mode). You can also use that title-bar double-clicking trick with any application windows and resizable-dialog boxes to toggle between last un-maximized size and full screen mode.
