why do i keep gettin 2 emails for the price of one???!!

i have connected my hotmail account to outlook express,
but when i recieve an emil it will give me 2 messages in
outllok express, but when i go to hotmail.com it will
only show, one??

why does it do this???

Essentially, the mail is being polled for twice.

Duplicate messages when using Hotmail.

ToolsOptionsGeneral tab. Uncheck either: When starting, go directly
to my Inbox folder or, Send and receive messages at startup.

I have had this problem too. Do you open OE by going
directly to your Inbox? If yes, try this. On the menu bar
at the top of the OE window click on TOOLS, OPTIONS, and
on the pop-up window select the GENERAL tab.
Under "General", un-check the "When starting, go directly
to my Inbox folder" and click OK at the bottom of this
window.

Then when you start OE wait until all of your email loads,
as shown by the message in the small box at the right-
bottom of this window, before going to your Inbox or any
other folders.
