Do you have a drawing program? I open .svg images in Corel. You might try using
the free Serif program DrawPlus. If you want to edit the image in Publisher you
have to maintain the vector format.

Sorry, I don't have. I just have Office 2007 with their components: word,
excel, acces, publisher, etc. I want to manage this problem just with Office
tools. I don't need such a complex drawing program like Corel. I also have
corel drawings (vectorials) wich I need to import in Publisher. I also use
drawing tool from Word. For my needs these tools are enough. THE question
still remains !!!. THKS !!!

You can use "inkscape" (free program) to convert them to a scalable format
for Publisher.

http://www.inkscape.org/

But there are others out there.

Publisher has a built in filter for .CDR files.
