Default formatting page layout size

Hello,

I am doing a project that needs to go into a local papter. The ad is 4"x4",
I go into Publisher 2003, and set it to that size. BUt it still wants to
print on a 8 by 10 sheet. If I go into the printer settings the smallest I
can get is 4x5.
When I convert it over to pdf, it is the full page with the 4 x 4 in the
middle.
Is it possible to adjust the page/paper itself to 4 x 4? I have tried
different settings with no luck.
thanks Bruce

What PDF converter are you using?
Acrobat will allow user created custom sizes. File, Page Setup, Printer Details
tab, Adobe PDF, Properties, Add button.

Are you saying you're trying to create an ad for a local paper?
If so...YOUR paper size is totally irrelevant, just create your ad at 4"x4"
(using Publisher's ruler) @ 150 - 300 ppi save as a .png or other non-lossy
format file and give it to the printer for placement.

Even if you're giving it to the printer on paper (old technology) you'd
still give him a full sheet of paper not a little 4x4 square...

or please clarify your question.

scansoft pdf converter. I thought I would have to have the page set at the
right size first, then put it in to the .pdf. I was emailing it, and wanted
to get it right.

According to Scansoft, you should be able to convert your document to your
preferred size.
