missing contacts
I recently exported all of the needed folders from a profile and upon
importing them back into another profile, everything shows up except the contacts. I am running outlook 2007 and this is driving me nuts |

If this is Outlook data, why are you exporting and importing? You already
have Outlook data, right? Just copy the data file and open it in the other profile. Exporting and importing always loses data (most of the time from end user error, as you are demonstrating yet again). -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Keno" wrote in message ... By "exerything shows up except the contacts........." - you mean what
exactly? You check the contacts folder and it's completely empty? That aside, Russ's comments about import/export should be heeded - from your brief description, wholeheartedly agree with him that the approach is not one that should be used in this case. missing contacts
Are they in the contacts folder but not available when you click To?
If you have Contacts in the Contacts folder but they are not accessible when you click on the To button, check these settings: Make sure the Contact folder is enabled as an email address book. Right click the Contacts folder, choose Properties then Outlook Address Book. Is the box to enable as email address book is checked? If this is grayed out... Go to Tools | Email Accounts, choose View or change existing directories or address book. Is the Outlook Address Book present? If it isn't listed, add it and close and restart Outlook. If it is listed, then remove it and close then restart Outlook and repeat these steps to add it. If you are using Outlook 2007 and the the checkbox is grayed, you'll need to make a new profile as you can't add the Outlook Address Book service due to a bug. -- Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ Outlook & Exchange Solutions Center: http://www.slipstick.com Outlook Tips by email: EMO - a weekly newsletter about Outlook and Exchange: You can access this newsgroup by visiting http://www.microsoft.com/office/comm...s/default.mspx or point your newsreader to msnews.microsoft.com. For me, When I upgraded to Windows 7, the contacts folder went empty. not just the "clicking To". They're nowhere to be found, that I can tell

did you import or just open the old pst in the profile?
See http://www.outlook-tips.net/beginner/2007_profile.htm - bottom half has the instructions for opening an old pst in the profile as the default data store. -- Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ Outlook & Exchange Solutions Center: http://www.slipstick.com/ Outlook Tips by email: EMO - a weekly newsletter about Outlook and Exchange: Do you keep Outlook open 24/7?
