Default Start Button Hangs

When I click on the start button of my windows XP home
edition system there is a long 40-60 second pause before
the start menue appears. After the meneu appears it works
and sometimes there is a pause for the submenues as well.
I have closed all applications and the problem still
exists. I have ran lates anti-virus, Ad-Aware, and Spy-
Bot and that made no difference either. This prblem does
not happen with any other application, short cut or
running program.

Any Ideas?

Hi Alan,

No obvious cause was returned after searching the Microsoft KB. This
newsgroup is for Outlook Express related questions. You might ask your
question in a Windows XP newsgroup. Below is a link to an NNTP newsgroup,
but you could look for the name of the group (windowsxp.general) using the
Web interface.
