Force an event to users calendars with no user intervention
I need to force an event to everyone's calendar in our group. I need it to
just appear and not be done through an invitation. Is this possible? Exchange 2000, Windows 2000 Server Thanks Ron |

How would you propose to populate the calendar (which only uses the Event
type of file format) without sending an event to the calendar? What exactly are you trying to do or avoid doing? Sending meeting/event invites is the whole purpose of having that option. -- Milly Staples [MVP - Outlook] Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal account will be deleted without reading. You would have to do this with a script and have write access to every
user's Calendar folder. -- Sue Mosher, Outlook MVP Author of Microsoft Outlook Programming - Jumpstart for Administrators, Power Users, and Developers http://www.outlookcode.com/jumpstart.aspx "Capt_Ron" wrote in message ... Here's what I need to do.
I have 200 people in our group that are, in a nutshell, computer ... Well lets just say that most of them are not very computer literate. Instead of inviting them and having to train them in outlook, I'd like to force an event to their calendar with a reminder set. I am an Exchange Admin, so permissions are not an issue. Hope that helps. Ron. "Milly Staples [MVP - Outlook]" wrote: How would you propose to populate the calendar (which only uses the Event type of file format) without sending an event to the calendar? Then you would need to set their Outlook profiles with auto-accept turned
on. Tools-Options-Calendar Options-Resource scheduling. If the user has auto-accept turned on, your meeting would automatically populate once they receive the meeting item. By the way, I know that users can be a royal pain, but training them to use the tools they have been given, in the long run, empowers them and keeps those nasty calls "I lost my toolbar!" to a minimum. Users also appreciate the knowledge and control over their own documents, meetings, spreadsheets, etc. -- Milly Staples [MVP - Outlook] Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact.
