Excel Translators for Outlook

Outlook 2002 as part of Office XP - cannot import data from any files - trying to import from excel in particular. I have loaded the translators from the XP Office disk but they don't seem to work? Any idea how I can try to reinstall these translators to try again? Any other ideas?

To import from Excel, you must have the ODBC translator installed. Click Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel and "change" your Office setup to Add/Remove Components. Go to the Outlook Branch and verify that all the entries under "Import from other formats" are either set to run from my computer (white) or to be installed on first run (yellow numeral one) and click "Update".

If the options are already correctly selected, Open Outlook and click Help Detect and Repair.

NOTE: You may be prompted for your original Office XP CD during this process.
