Error when sending to Distribution list
I have a user that created a DL for her department and then sent it to each
user (14 of them). For some reason or another when they select this DL (which only has 34 contacts in it) they get an error when they click on the + to expand it open, which is the following; Microsoft Office Outlook Cannot perform the requested operation. The command selected is not valid for this recipient. Could not complete the operation. One or more parameter values are not valid. And if she selects the Send button she gets the following error; Microsoft Office Outlook Could not complete the operation. One or more parameter values are not valid. Any help is greatly appreciated. We are using OL2003 Penny |

No information here. How was this DL created and where does it reside? How
was this DL sent and incorporated into the other users' information store? Looks to me like it was toasted. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Penny Miller" wrote in message ... She created the DL in her contacts and then sent it to the users in an email
and then they saved it to their own contact folder. For the most part these recipients were from the global address list a public folder contact and some of which were in her own contacts too. I see at least 6 opportunities for corruption in this scenario and not
enough information for anyone to help you. "Send in an email" doesn't tell us anything. For future reference, DL's will not remain intact unless they are inserted as an Outlook Item in an RTF message. DL's in the GAL do not behave the same as DL's in a Contacts Folder. In addition, DL's are so notoriously unreliable that most of us avoid using them at all. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Penny Miller" wrote in message ... Actually, I'm not a fan of these DL's either (they have been nothing but a
thorn in my side). They are sending in RTF, does it make a difference if the DL is in a Public folder rather than their own contacts folder? "Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook]" wrote in message ... Indeed it does, but I can't address it since I'm not familiar with Exchange.
