When I pull up my send to list to pick a name from my contacts of which I
have multiple lists it also shows all of my past lists that no longer exist.
How do I delete them ??

Clarify what you mean by a "send to list." Include your Outlook version.

Outlook 2003

When I want to send an e-mail I click on the NEW button and then I click on
the TO button and get a list of contact directories to scroll through. Some
of these directories are no longer in my outlook yet they are still listed
when I click on the TO button. I am trying to find a way of deleting them out
of that list

Open the address book interface, click ToolsOptions and remove them.

Unfortunately that dialog only affects which folders are checked, not which
are listed in the Outlook Address Book. You have to use another dialog to
blow away references to Contacts Folders. Never mind, I see you've already
posted that method.
