How to kill off the Outlook Address Book
What I want is to click on the TO icon and bring up the Contacts, not
the "Address Book." It used to bring up Contacts. Something changed it. Lady Dungeness Crabby, but Great Legs! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ On Tue, 21 Aug 2007 21:48:27 -0400, "Diane Poremsky" wrote: |you need it if you want to send email - if not, delete the email account to |remove it. |

How to kill off the Outlook Address Book
Brian, When I click the TO icon -- I get a blank Address Book. I
don't want Address book at all. I want the Contacts to open. I did right-click on my Contacts folder Outlook Address Book ... the option to "Show this folder as an email address book" is grayed out. Then just follow the many posts here that tell you how to configure the
Outlook Address Book. Once you do that, it is simple to configure the address book view to show your Contacts Folder by default in Tools Options "Show this Address list first" http://support.microsoft.com/default...Product=ol2002 -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] wrote in message ... How to kill off the Outlook Address Book
1. I cannot find Tools Options Show this Address List
First 2. I DO see my contacts; I can open my Contacts, select a contact and write an email to that contact. 3. I CANNOT use Control+N to create a new email message, then click TO and have my Contacts folder open. Instead, when I click TO, the dialog box is titled "Select Names" and it presents a list of names on the left, with three boxes on the right--one for TO, one for CC, and one for BC. It's the "Select Names" dialog box that I find annoying. I would much rather have the Contacts folder open up when I click TO in a blank email message. I thought the Contacts folder used to open up when I clicked TO in a new email message. Is my memory failing me? Probably - every version of Outlook since 2002 (AFAIR) has the "select names" dialog box when you click the "To" button... |

How to kill off the Outlook Address Book
Re read my post. I answered all these questions. To repeat:
1. Configure the Outlook Address Book as I directed you. 2. Only then will you be able to open the address book view and select which folder to show first. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] wrote in message ... 1. How to kill off the Outlook Address Book
I think you need to re-read my posts. I have dutifully double-check
my work to ensure I am following the instructions to the letter. I believe you have misapprehended what I am hoping to accomplish. At this point, I'm afraid we're at a standstill. It looks like I cannot bring up the Contacts folder when I click the TO icon in New Email. I shall have to suffer along with bringing up the address book instead.
