Default How do I position a word in the middle of a horizontal line?

How do I position text, or a word, in the middle of a horizontal line?
Specifically a line that would cut right through the middle of a word if it
kept going, but it breaks for the word. Kind of like this example:

-------------- Hello -------------

But without the dashes. I need a solid line. Thanks for your help.

You could use em dashes instead of hyphens, but you'd need to insert them
manually and center the word by eye (or by making sure you had the same
number of dashes on each side). Here's another trick that will work:

1. (Assuming you want the lines to extend from the left margin to the right
margin) set a center tab stop at the center of the line and a right tab stop
at the right margin.

2. Go to Format | Tabs and give the center tab a hyphen leader. Give the
right tab an underline leader. OK.

3. Press Tab, type "Hello," and press Tab again.

4. Select the first tab character and go to Format | Font | Character
spacing. Format the tab character as Condensed by 2 points.

5. Select the second tab character and, in Format | Font | Character
spacing, format the tab character as Raised by 5 or 6 points.

6. Compare the different effects and see which one you like better. You may
find you need to add spaces around the word.
