Default html chars displaying in help and when printing

OE6
XP Home

I get html chars printed from most emails (not all). Some print okay, but
most print the html control chars.

Tried to look in OE Help for settings, or other hint as to problem with html
chars being printed, but they show up there as well. I select a help item,
it displays, but has the html control chars displayed as well.

Reinstalled printer, no improvement.

Can print from MS WORD and other apps with no problem.

Help!
(please)
:-)

I posted this earlier from Al's machine -- then subsequently found the
problem.
In "Internet Options" the default browser was not set. I set IE (the only
browser he has on that system) as the default browser, and the html
character print/display problem went away. No idea why, but there it is.

It may be related to this article:

HTML Code May Be Printed Instead of Web Page or Message
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=175322

Resetting the default browser may have cleared it up.

Thanks for posting back.
