New window doesn't open
When I select create new, reply, or forward, the title shows up in the task
bar at the bottom of the page, I have to right click on it and select maximize, then I can carry on with forwarading, creating, replying etc. What used to happen is, as soon as I selected create, forward, or reply a new window would pop up on top of the other windows and I would be off to the races. I did not knowingly change any setting and I find the way it is now very laborious. When it first began happening, about a week ago, I didn't notice the title in the task bar and kept clicking reply until I had about 10 instances of the reply header in the task bar. I have gone through every setting of OE that I could think of - so far with no success. Any ideas? Thanks |

New window doesn't open
Hi mo32a,
The key is not to maximize the message window. Try "Restore Down" (the middle button at the top right of a window) or "Restore" after right-clicking the task bar button and then resize by stretching the intermediate window to approximate a maximized window. The size will be remembered for subsequent message windows. -- Tim K. aka Kuay Tim MS-MVP - Outlook Express Lynnwood, WA * "mo32a" wrote in message ... New window doesn't open
It is likely that the window is opening very small or off the screen
(perhaps behind the task bar). Do NOT use the Maximize option. A Maximize does not get remembered. Instead move/resize the window and then close it. That will get remembered. To get a window back on the screen, try this: - Use Alt/Tab to make it the active window - Press Alt/Space to get the control window for that application - Press M to select the Move option - Now you can use the arrow keys to move the window around the screen to get it properly in view - Press the Enter key when the window is where you want it If you need to resize a window, but can't use the mouse, try this: - Use Alt/Tab to make it the active window - Press Alt/Space to get the control window for that application - Press S to select the Size option - Now you can use the arrow keys to resize the window - Press the Enter key when the window is the size you want it -- Mike - http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/techhelp.htm "mo32a" wrote in message ... Thanks for your help - something very simple but very frustrating.

Thanks for your help - that is exactly what was happening. I have printed out
your directions for future ref. "Michael Santovec" wrote: It is likely that the window is opening very small or off the screen (perhaps behind the task bar). Do NOT use the Maximize option.
