You have successfully updated. Dome of the DLL files in the OE program
folder are now 6.00.2800.1438

Also since your using ME maybe you can help with below:

I recently obtained a PC that has of all OSs, WIN ME. Got a couple of
problems/questions need help with:

1. When starting up, it asks for User Name & Password, I can press
CANCEL and it starts okay. Can I get rid of this nuisance?

2. I connect to the NET using DSL. How can I get the Connection Icon
(2 little monitors flashing) to
show in lower right of Taskbar like it would for Dial-Up?

2) Control PanelNetwork Connections - click on your connection icon
propertiesshow icon in notification area....

Norman,
Since doing all the updates, IE won't open & some times OE won't either.
I've ran Repair IE several times, no help. Other items may not open every
time either like Control Panel, Favorites. Appears updating has really
hosed the whole thing up. Any suggestions?

This may not be the appropriate article, but check it out:

I don't know a lot about how MSOE updates can fail, but they can.

Also since your using ME maybe you can help with below:

I recently obtained a PC that has of all OSs, WIN ME. Got a couple of
problems/questions need help with:

CANCEL
and it starts okay. Can I get rid of this nuisance?

I believe this is controlled by the Primary Network Logon in the Network
Properties. Set it to, "Windows Logon". If it is already there, you may

need
to delete the .pwl file. Should be a "DEFAULT.PWL" file in the Windows
directory. With the Primary Network Logon set to "Windows Logon", and no
"DEFAULT.PWL" file, you should get a pop up requesting a user name and a
password. Enter a user name, but no password. You should never see that

pop
up again.

2. I connect to the NET using DSL. How can I get the Connection Icon (2
little monitors flashing) to
show in lower right of Taskbar like it would for Dial-Up?

That is controlled by your PPPoE session manager. I haven't used one on

the
computer in so long I can't remember how it displays. I use the DSL modem

to
run my PPPoE session. That depends upon having a modem which is more than
just a bridge, though.

With PPPoE DSL, a session can be managed off of the computer. If you have

a
router, it is better to let the router deal with the PPPoe session
management. In my case, my DSL modem is capable of running the PPPoE
session, so I set the PPPoE login paramters on the DSL modem (it is an SBC
specified SpeedStream 4100). There is nothing I can display in the task

bar;
I have to use the browser to access the modem status pages.
